Worship with us Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. We are located at: 9401 Fieldstone Pkwy, Toano, VA 23168
Children, youth, and families are welcome into every part of worship and community life here at Stone House Presbyterian Church. We love the sound of children and youth in our sanctuary, and want to make them and your entire family feel as welcome and at home here as possible.
To Help Welcome Families, Each Sunday Morning at SHPC:
Nursery Care is available downstairs for children ages 0-2 years old.
We also have a livestream of the worship service in our Youth Lounge, next to the sanctuary, which is always open and available to families.
As you come through our doors, we have children’s bulletins that go along with our scripture readings for the day. Please take one for each child and youth who are with you.
On the far left side of the sanctuary, we have a Children’s Corner where they will find clipboards with coloring pages, crayons, and illustrated Bibles for children of all ages. We invite them to grab these items and take them to their seats next to you in worship.
Pastor Alex invites the children forward for a message together. This usually includes stories, videos, or songs, closing in prayer.
After the children’s message, children Pre-K through Grade 5 are welcome to go to our classrooms downstairs for Discovery Time. Again, all children are also welcome to stay in the sanctuary with us throughout the service, if they prefer to stay with family.
After the worship service, our Director of Music Nick Schacht leads our children’s choir in singing and learning new songs in our youth lounge for 15 minutes.
Some Suggestions for Families:
If you have any questions or need any help, please ask the greeters at the door. We would love to help in any way.
The first time you worship with us, walk over to the children’s corner with them. Show them the coloring pages, crayons, story Bibles and books, and invite them to take back to their seat the items that interest them.
Sit near the front of the sanctuary. That way your children can see more of what is going on in worship, which will help them learn and join in.
If coming up front for the children’s message is a little bit scary or intimidating, come up with them, and even join in. Pastor Alex will definitely appreciate your company.
Join in as much as you can in the prayers and the songs. Children very much see what you are doing and model that themselves.
Please know that in whatever way you make it to worship, and whatever time you get here, we are simply delighted to have you. It is our great pleasure to have you and your family worshiping with us.
