The second Wednesday of each month we visit with seniors living in the Burnt Ordinary Apartments on Richmond Road in Toano. There, we prepare lunch, listen to stories, play Bingo, celebrate holidays, and build relationships with our friends at Burnt Ordinary.

Winter Overnight Shelter

Every year from October through March, communities of faith throughout the greater Williamsburg area join together to host our neighbors who do not have safe housing.Organized by the Community of Faith Mission, every week a different house of worship in our community hosts those who are in need of housing. To learn more about the program, including this year’s schedule go here: https://cofm.info/

We at Stone House Presbyterian Church partner each year with Williamsburg Presbyterian Church. During the week that WPC hosts, we come and greet, cook dinner, check-in, serve, stay overnight, and send our neighbors out with a hot breakfast and bagged lunch.

Backpack and School Supply Drive

Every August before school starts, we join together with Hickory Neck Episcopal Church to provide backpacks and school supplies for children and youth living in the apartments of Burnt Ordinary. For each student we provide a backpack, their full list of school supplies from their school, and gym clothes/uniforms.

Angel Tree

St. Olaf Food  Pantry

We collect needed non-perishable food items, as well as baby supplies and hygiene products to help stock the ecumenical pantry hosted by St Olaf Catholic Church

Every year, we partner with the Salvation Army Angel Tree program to provide gifts for 50 children in our community. On Sunday mornings in November and early December, you will see an Angel Tree up in our sanctuary, full of tags with children’s info on it. You are invited to take one to shop for clothes and gifts for that child

One Great Hour of Sharing

Leading up to Easter, we are reminded that we serve a God of salvation and love, justice and mercy. So on Palm Sunday and Easter morning, we take a special offering that supports local and worldwide ministries of Hunger, Development, and Disaster Relief. The offering is called One Great Hour of Sharing.  In the weeks leading up to it, we hand out fish banks for children (and adults), teach children’s messages about hunger and the need for justice around the world, share the work of Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, proclaim stories of peace and justice, and encourage all to join in with this great ministry of PC(USA).

Proclaiming Grace Outreach (PGO)
One local ministry partner we have had the privilege to build a close relationship with these past few years is Proclaiming Grace Outreach (PGO). PGO is a Christian ministry serving the community of New Kent County with a huge weekly Thrift Shop, a twice-a-month food bank, a home repair and ramp ministry, and a car repair ministry.

Volunteer Groups

Volunteering is at the heart of our community at Stone House Presbyterian Church and Preschool. Our Volunteer Groups offer diverse opportunities for individuals to contribute their time, skills, and passion to make a positive impact. Join our volunteer initiatives and be part of something greater as we serve and support our members and the wider community.
