…and Deliver Us from Evil

“Jesus knew the magnitude of what he was teaching his disciples’ to pray. He knew that he was teaching us to pray for victory over evil, victory over destruction, victory over death. And he knew that this victory wasn’t going to come through political power, through military might, or through any of the ways this world might have expected. Jesus knew that the only way for this victory was love.”

Forgive Us…As We Forgive?

For at the table of grace, we find our own heavenly Father. We find our God of limitless mercy. We find our loving savior who went all the way to the cross to welcome us home. And there, God tells us: “You are always with me, and whatever is mine is yours. And now we can celebrate and rejoice, for this brother of yours was dead and has come to life; he was lost and has been found.”

“Our Father in Heaven”

“…But Jesus says, “Our Father.” He invites us, all of us, to see God not as some far away, distant object, but a loving parent who wants to be in relationship with us.”
